Now, his gun supplier, Oscar Hernandez Jr., who holds no relation to the former NFL star, has been sentenced for his part in the case.
ESPN reported Wednesday that Oscar was sentenced to two years in federal prison on Tuesday.

Oscar had pleaded guilty to charges of gun conspiracy and lying to a grand jury.
Back in January, Oscar admitted to shipping several guns from Florida to the now 25-year-old Aaron in Massachusetts just months before Lloyd was murdered in 2013.
Oscar however did not supply Aaron with the murder weapon used in Lloyd's killing.
In court on Tuesday, Oscar apologized for his illegal actions.
"There is no question that I deserve my punishment. I made a bad choice, and I have learned from that bad choice," he said.
Plus, the former NFL star's lawyers are due back in court on May 21 for a status hearing over his other two murder charges, which he has plead not guilty to.
The former Patriots tight end is apparently not due back in court with his lawyers that day so he will stay in Souza-Baranowski Correctional Center where he is currently serving his life in prison without parole for Lloyd's murder.
This status hearing will take place in Suffolk County Superior Court in Boston.
