David Letterman's final episodes as host of the Late Show certainly became more memorable after Tina Fey's final appearance at the show involved the actress stripping down and gifting the long-time late-night host her dress.

Fey appeared on the program for the 20th and final time (Letterman's final episode is scheduled for May 20), and as a part of her goodbye to the host, who complimented her on her blue dress with black embellishments, Fey stood up, asked him to help her unzip the dress, and shimmied out of it, telling Letterman in the process that it would be her Last Dress Ever, because she would never wear one for another talk show appearance again.

"I realized that when you retire, this is it, I'm never going to wear a fancy dress on a talk show again...I dress u like this out of respect for you," Fey told Letterman beforehand. "..What, am I going to put a dress on for Jimmy [Fallon]? That's creepy, he's like my brother. I'm gonna wear special underwear for James Corden? That's not gonna happen."

"Because this is my last time wearing a fancy dress on a talk show, and conforming to gender norms out of respect for you, my gift to you is, I want to give you the dress," Fey continued before standing up and gesturing that Letterman should help her unzip.

Sure enough, the dress was then removed so Fey could reveal what she was wearing underneath--which included a pair of nude colored stockings and a bra, along with a black leotard. The front portion of the leotard read "BYE DAVE!" across her lower abdomen, while the back saw #LastDressEver written on it.

The stunt has since gone viral online, with the official video on Letterman's page reaching over 6,000 views.

Stephen Colbert will replace Letterman as the show's host, and officially takes over in September.
