Bobbi Kristina Brown Update: Judge Rules For Bobby & Her Aunt Pat Houston To Have Co-Guardianship 'Both Are Delighted' [VIDEO]
A judge has decided whether Bobby Brown will get guardianship over his daughter Bobbi Kristina Brown’s estate as she remains in a rehab treatment center.
Bobby and Bobbi Kristina’s aunt Pat Houston have actually been granted co-guardianship over the 22-year-old. Bobbi Kristina is the only child of Bobby and late singer Whitney Houston. Pat is Whitney’s sister-in-law.
Both Pat and Bobby released a joint statement to People magazine Friday night via their lawyers (David Long-Daniel & Christopher Brown respectively).
“We are delighted to inform the public that the court has appointed Bobby Brown and Pat Houston as co-guardians of Bobbi Kristina Brown (‘Krissi’). Both Mr. Brown and Ms. Houston are jointly responsible for decisions related to Krissi’s care and medical needs.”
Reports have circulated that Pat and Bobby aren’t necessarily the best of friends. But given both of their connections with Bobbi Kristina they’ll put their differences aside for her.
The statement also reveals that Attorney Bedelia Hargrove “is responsible for Krissi’s assets, including her likeness, rights and legal claims. Both parties are delighted with the court’s decision and ware working harmonioulsly to ensure Krissi receives the best possible medical care. We are appareciate of the manner in which Judge Jeryl Debra Rosh handled this matter.”
The family and fans have been praying and hoping for a full recovery for Bobbi Kristina after she was discovered unconscious in her bathtub on Jan. 31. She was taken from an Atlanta hospital to the center she is currently in. She is still on life support. She had been in a medically induced coma for about three months after the incident and has opened her eyes. Still, she has not spoken or responded to anyone or anything yet. Her grandmother Cissy Houston said doctors told her Bobbi Kristina has “irreversible brain damage.”
