'Hart Of Dixie' Cancelled: The CW Axes Show, Scott Porter 'Signs Off' As George Tucker [VIDEO]
Sad news for fans of The CW’s Hart of Dixie this week.
Rachel Bilson’s Pregnancy Reason For Short 4th Season Scott Porter Says ‘No Show’ Without Her
The show has officially been cancelled. While rumors swirled back in March that the series would not be coming back, there was still hope as it was unclear as to whether it was really taken off the air. Now it has been confirmed that the show is finished once and for all. The CW announced the news, according to The Hollywood Reporter Thursday.
Scott Porter, who played Bluebell’s favorite (and maybe only) lawyer took to his Twitter and confirmed the news Thursday.
“Hey, #HartOfDixie fam…Thank you. George Tucker, signing off.”
He followed it up with a snapshot of some of the co-stars on the final day on the set.
He wrote, “From our last #HartOfDixie Day. To those pictures and to those not…I love you, fam! #WhatARun”.
Rachel Bilson, Wilson Bethel, Cress Wiliams, Tim Matheson, Kaitlyn Black and the show’s executive producer Leila Gerstein are in the photo.
The show had a successful run after four seasons. Actress Jaime King, who played southern belle Lemon Breeland, made it clear that the show was not suffering when it came to ratings.
She told E! News recently that Rachel Bilson’s pregnancy played a part in the show’s future hanging in the balance for several weeks.
“It’s not like a ratings issue it was more of a timing issue. Rachel Bilson got pregnant and wanted to take maternity leave. Every woman has a right to do that. I think that everything has an impact on the way things are decided upon. It’s very interesting because our fans are so devoted.”
