Doctor Who's Pasternoster Gang might be in line for their own special.

The unlikely partnership of a Silurian, a human, and a Sontaran took up residence as Victorian London's Sherlockian detectives, but they haven't appeared since the season 8 premiere (see video below). Neve McIntosh (Vastra), however, is hopeful that the gang will appear once more, perhaps in a spin-off or special.

"If it happened, I would love it," McIntosh said of a spin-off, according to The Mary Sue. "Or a one-off special. Or go straight for a movie! I would love to do something with it."

It's more likely that the trio would find their way into a special, particularly considering showrunner Steven Moffat pooh-poohed a spin-off earlier this year.

"I'm always slightly worried that you can't keep repeating the joke. And there's always talk of the spin-off, and the Beeb would do it in a heartbeat... but... I dunno," Moffat told Doctor Who Magazine (via Kasterborous). "The moment you start relying on something, you should probably throw it away. I always kind of feel that nothing should stay in the Doctor's life. You can have River for a few years, but then River has to go."
