Amanda Knox Reportedly Broke After Long Legal Battle

The engaged Seattle native, who alongside her former boyfriend Raffaele Sollecito, was handed down a final decision that she was innocent in the 2007 murder of Meredith Kercher in March, was in New York recently for an Innocence Project Gala--and followed the appearance up afterwards with a stop at Keats karaoke bar.

Is Amanda Knox Receiving Death Threats?

Knox's life post acquittal hasn't been easy according to reports.

Following her final battle, it was reported that the seven years of struggle with the Italian legal system and defending her innocence wound up causing both her and her family to become broke.

"The [ordeal] has been hugely emotional, but the financial impact has been catastrophic," sources said at the time. "Amanda received a $4 million advance for her book...that money has all gone, immediately out the door to pay legal fees and there is nothing left. She really want to establish that she's innocent in Italy, they've paid a lot of fees to Italian lawyers."

In addition, Knox has also found herself the victim of death threats from those who believe she escaped from serving time for a crime they believe she was guilty of committing.
