For those who have been keeping up, fans have seen a huge change in George Clooney in the past several months. While he used to like keeping his life private, the actor has been rather open about his new life and marriage to his wife, Amal Clooney. In fact, the Hollywood star has opened up once again by saying that he was never looking to tie the knot before he met the British beauty.

According to the Seattle Pi on Friday, George says that it actually took a lot of effort to convince Amal to be his wife.

He said, "We met in Lake Como. She was a friend of a friend who came to visit and then I chased her for many months, calling and writing, those kinds of things."

He added, "I wasn't looking to get married - and then I met someone who I realised I wanted to spend the rest of my life with. I only hoped that she felt the same way. I was very nervous when I asked her to marry me because this wasn't even something we'd talked about before, so there was a moment where she could have turned around and said, 'What? Are you crazy? I thought we were just having fun here!"

George, who was previously married to actress Talia Balsam in 1988, said that Amal changed his life so much, that he's never been happier.

"From the moment I met Amal until now, the idea of spending my life with her has been the most important thing for me, and the thing that brings me the most joy in the world. I couldn't be happier with my life right now. I have a great partner in life, and I didn't think I was ever going to have that."

The couple tied the knot in a lavish ceremony in front of 1000 of their closest family and friends in Venice last September.
