Maya Rudolph National Anthem: Actress Performs Hysterical Rendition Adding Beyonce In The Mix At Graduation Ceremony [VIDEO]
Well, that's one way to end a graduation speech.
School Founder Apologizes For 'Black People' Comment At Graduation
Over the weekend, Bridesmaids actress Maya Rudolph led the students of Tulane University in New Orleans with a speech where she ended it with a rendition of the National Anthem. While this might be a traditional way to participate in an honorary event like this one, Rudolph made the moment a little more enticing than usual.
Known for her comedic ways, Rudolph belted out the lyrics with different vocal ranges from low to high. She also moved her mouth around to make the words sound more bizarre.
Tom Cruise Makes Graduation Surprise
While the audience was clapping, laughing and cheering her on, the actress kept her expressions simple in her hysterical routine.
The Anthem though went in a different path when she added a little Beyonce in the mix. She sang out lyrics to "Single Ladies," which definitely made the graduates happy.
Rudolph added more octaves in her song with long and short notes, and then even did some comical movements. There is a second where she moves away from the microphone to each side, drops down, then rises back up. She also let out her notes and stopped herself just to get back to her solemn face.
Perhaps, the actress may want to consider taking up the title of a graduation commencement speaker since she knows how to keep the entertainment in that can top the long speeches.
