Matthew Goode, who played Finn Polmar in The Good Wife will not be returning for season 7, according to a new TVLine report.

New Actress To Replace Kalinda As Detective In Season 7 Of The Good Wife?

The finale of season 6 did seem to be concluding his arc, but there was still hope that he might change his mind and return to the partnership or even just come back as Alicia's (Julianna Margulies) love interest. But TVLine confirms that Goode has left for good.

Through season 6 fans were delighted by the tug and pull between Alicia and Finn, and had got to the point of rooting for this relationship. Finn was also symbolic of Alicia's connection to Will (Josh Charles) as he was in the courtroom when Will was shot at, and was there with him during his last moments.

Critics Unforgiving Of Controversial Season 6 Finale Scene Of The Good Wife

Part of starting over for Alicia toward the end of season 6 was starting her own firm, and in the finale of the chapter, Finn had to bid Alicia farewell, realizing that their professional partnership would not work as he had romantic feelings for her. But as Alicia was left in the lurch, a new savior had an offer for her.

Louis Canning (Michael J. Fox) knocked on her door asking her if she wanted to partner up. Canning was pretty disgruntled with Diane and Cary too, as they let go of his wife, who worked at Lockhart/Agos. If Alicia takes Canning's offer, things could become very interesting going forward. But it's a wonder how hard she will come down on her old partners and close friends Diane and Cary. Canning's agenda seems clear as he is fuming at them, and it seemed like he'd do anything to get back at them.

The season 6 finale, entitled 'Wanna Partner?' aired on CBS on May 10.
