Alicia's (Julianna Margulies) romantic life has been in quite a state of flux since Will's (Josh Charles) death and in season 6 of The Good Wife it showed no signs of letting up despite two worthy admirers.

New Actress To Replace Kalinda As Detective In Season 7 Of The Good Wife?

She had a dalliance with her handler, Johnny Elfman (Steven Pasquale) but quickly retreated before she could be bound up by any emotional attachment, even though he had fallen for her. Meanwhile, there was a constant undercurrent with Finn Polmar (Matthew Goode), but the two never did anything about the strong attraction between them.

Elfman left towards the end of season 6 after Alicia made clear to him that it was nothing more than casual liaison to her, and his work as her campaign manager was done. In the season finale, Polmar also chose to opt out of the partnership Alicia wanted to start with him, because he could not continue to work with her while ignoring their strong connection.

Critics Unforgiving Of Controversial Season 6 Finale Scene Of The Good Wife

Through season 6 fans were delighted by the tug and pull between Alicia and Finn, and had got to the point of rooting for this relationship. Finn was also symbolic of Alicia's connection to Will as he was in the courtroom when Will was shot, and was there with him during his last moments.

So it seems like Alicia will be starting fresh when it comes to the romantic front in the next season. She is obviously not rekindling anything with Peter (Chris Noth). We are pretty certain that the showrunners will write in a new character who will hopefully play Alicia's new paramour, as it's been awhile since she has struck up any exciting future.

The season 6 finale, entitled 'Wanna Partner?' aired on CBS on May 10.
