Kalinda's (Archie Panjabi) exit has left a huge void in The Good Wife and rumors are already swirling about possible replacements in season 7.

Earlier this year it was revealed that British actress Cush Cumbo will be joining the cast for the next chapter.

Speaking to TVGuide, showrunner Robert and Michelle King clarified that Cumbo was not a replacement for Kalinda.

"I wouldn't say she's replacing Archie because she's irreplaceable, but we wanted someone who could fill that same interesting dynamic on the show without doing the same thing," Robert said.

Michelle added that they hadn't quite figured her role in the CBS legal drama yet, so the intention was not to bring her on board to fill Kalinda's shoes.

She said: "We're still figure out exactly [her role], but we're not suggesting that Cush will be an investigator or take on that role."

E! Online had reported that Jumbo will have a recurring role on the legal drama. In the past the actress has worked on Getting On and Torchwood, and also co-starred with Hugh Jackman in the Broadway adaptation of The River.

Also, Jess Weixler, who plays the sub-detective Robyn, has also not been seen too much. In an interview at the PaleyFest with the creators, TVLinegot information on the curious case of the missing Robyn. The Kings assured fans that Robyn was very much in the house, and she had not been appearing on the show as Weixler was away auditioning for something else in Los Angeles.

"They never let her out," Robert said. "The secret obviously is that Jess Weixler is in L.A. and going out on auditions," he added. "We didn't want to lose her or kill her off because we love the actress so much."

The season 6 finale, entitled 'Wanna Partner?' aired on CBS on May 10.
