'Transformers 5' Spoilers: 'Age of Extinction' Sequel To Feat. New Lineup Of Robots? [VIDEO]
The development for Transformers 5 is underway, and some reports suggest that the film will feature a new lineup of robots.
Most recently, Christian Today suggested that the Age of Extinction sequel will focus on new robots. As Optimus Prime left to find his creators in Cybertron at the end of Age of Extinction, the report reveals that new machines like Ultra Magnus, Cyclonus, and Scrounge will be stepping it up on earth. In fact with other recent news about Bumblebee possibly getting its own spin-off film, it seems like it's time for a new generation of autobots to lead the vanguard.
In April this year, Hasbro announced that it will be coming out with an all-new female cast of Transformers. In its drive to address the call for female representation, the toyline will be unveiling six new characters.
Transformers 5 Sticking To 2016 Release Date?
There have been female characters in the Transformers franchise before but none of them have played a pivotal role in the series, and Hasbro is looking to change that. This trend seems to have picked up from the fan-made female Transformer Windblade, who is also a character on a Cartoon Network series based on the Transformers.
It would be very interesting to see Transformers 5 incorporate this development in the movie as well, it will not only be refreshing but will make the film series very current and relevant.
Transformers: Age of Extinction hit theaters on June 27, 2014.
