During the new episode, Portwood explained why she feels comfortable with alcohol.
“You're drinking,” Dr. Drew said to Portwood during the Teen Mom OG: Reunion Special, via a report by Wetpaint Entertainment on Tuesday. After acknowleging the issue, Portwood admitted, "Well, you're not supposed to drink, as an addict you're prone to anything."

Despite her past addiction to drugs, which led her to enter prison for five years, as opposed to going to rehab, Portwood claims she can handle her alcohol, and insisted she is not in jeopardy of a drug relapse.
“I haven't got triggered when I drink," she explained. "The reason for that is because of my father ... My father just died from drinking. It's hard losing a parent, and it's even worse to lose him to alcohol complications The last time I saw my father he wasn't awake, he was in a coma.”
On the show, Portwood's fiancé, Matthew Baier, was seen drinking, and became so irate that he punched a hole in the wall.
When asked if Baier's drinking was a concern, Portwood said, “No, not at all because that’s the only time that’s ever happened, and he hasn’t drank since because of it. I know it’s hard for people to understand mine and Matt’s relationship and I get it, but the thing that matters is we’re happy.”
The Teen Mom OG: Reunion Special continues next Monday at 10 p.m. on MTV.
