Blizzard will be selling fresh heroes in its popular free-to-play digital card game, Hearthstone: Heroes of Warcraft, but the characters do not represent entirely new classes.

The developer announced that King of Ironforge, Magni Bronzebeard, will be the first new hero skin in the game. Bronzebeard, and all future heroes added to Hearthstone, will be available for $9.99. He is simply a reskin of the Warrior class, with a new portrait, power animation, and voiceover.

That bears repeating: these are not new classes with their own skills, but visual reskins of existing classes, starting with Bronzebeard standing in the for Garrosh Hellscream, the Warrior. These new Hearthstone heroes will feature brand new detailed animated portraits and art that's all-new to the Blizzard universe. But, be aware that there are no differences in terms of gameplay or abilities.

Valve Has Announced The Release Date For Its Steam Machines

$9.99 seems a bit steep for a reskin, but there will undoubtedly be plenty of interested players out there. The changes are to more than just the character portrait, with a custom play area, individualized emotes, and voiceovers that suit their personalities. Bronzebeard features a new hammer animation in place of Hellscream's animation for the Armor Up power.

The new heroes also come with unique card backs, which can be used across any deck of your choosing. Magni Bronzebeard will soon be available on PC, Mac, and mobile through the in-game Hearthstone store.
