Hank Azaria's Ed Returning For Season 3?

Voight spoke about what drew him to the character when he was offered to take on the part.

"When I was asked to do 'Ray Donovan' I was given a script that was very spare for this character of mine but very powerful because when I wasn't on screen doing something outrageous, I was being talked about," he said. "So it was an important character and I had to find a way to do it."

"I understood why they sent it to me because it was a character that had some danger to him and then some charm as well," he added.

The actor also revealed that he really looked forward to working with Liev Schreiber, who plays the titular character.

Speaking about the challenges of playing Mickey, the actor revealed that he "had to change himself physically in every way."

At this point the interviewer jokingly suggested that he also had to become comfortable dancing in a towel referring to a highlight of Mickey's in season 2. In response, Voight joked about how he was trying to make a dignified interview, until she mentioned this.

In season 3 Mickey and Ray will go there own separate ways. Mickey will be trying to start a new business and will get into "dealings with nefarious people who are dangerous and so everybody has to suffer for it."

Season 3 of Ray Donovan will premiere on July 12 at 9 p.m. on Showtime.
