Faithful viewers of the show might have seen this whole situation coming as Keira (Lauren London) and Malik (Hosea Chanchez) have had a close relationship since she joined the show. But while they got caught up in their secret love affair by her fiancé Blue (Jay Ellis), it looks like she’s not quite ready to let Malik go just yet.
London talked about the future of her character Wednesday as The Game comes to an end after this season.
Tia Mowry On Returning To ‘The Game’ Final Season ‘Melanie & Derwin Forever’
“This is the beginning to the end of how we know her. After the [season 9 premiere], it actually sets the tone for a shift in my character that we’re about to see and this is the beginning of that…Malik is involved…that’s what I can tell you,” she told The Wrap. “I’m like an FBI agent (laughs). At the end of it all, the season finale, it’s gonna be a different Keira that we see. I think Blue and Malik actually contribute to that.”
London was also very candid when talking about stepping into a female lead role after fan favorite Tia Mowry left the season.
“I never felt pressure. I’m very secure with myself. I knew that I was not replacing Tia. Keira was not replacing Melanie, her character. Any pressure that I feel is actually about myself and doing the best that I can do, but no, I didn’t feel that I was stepping behind anybody.”
Catch the final season of The Game Wednesdays at 10/9c on BET.
