Clippers basketball player Lamar Odon mistakenly introduced himself as a Lakers player during a recent interview, a team which he became very successful with.

Though he correctly identified the city he plays in, and though he was wearing a Clippers jersey, the player proved that he has the Lakers on his mind. While with the Los Angeles team, the 33-year-old won two NBA titles, the 6th Man of the Year award in 2011 and made three trips to the Finals. Since leaving the Lakers, he has only hit five of his 17 shots this year and has made six turnovers during 49 minutes of playing time, according to The Inquisitor.

The report also noted that In the span of his career, Odom has switched between four different teams: Clippers, Lakers, Heat and Mavericks. So far, Odom has only played 234 games spread out over five seasons for the Clippers, according to Yahoo Sports.

Seven months ago, the Dallas Mavericks asked him to leave their team in middle of the season. Odom's move to Texas and his start with the team was shown on the E! reality show "Khloe and Lamar." The transition was notably difficult for him and scenes in the show showed him struggling to perform to his best ability after the devastating turn in events that made him switch, and move, from Los Angeles to Dallas. One episode that showed his struggle was when the Mavericks traveled to Los Angeles for a game, and the crowd stood in support of their lost California player.

"The Mavericks and I have mutually agreed that it's in the best interest of both parties for me to step away from the team," Odom said in a statement to ESPN.com back in April. "I'm sorry that things didn't work out better for both of us."

Odom, who is also the husband of Khloe Kardashian, celebrated his birthday on Tuesday.
