She landed in some hot water with critics and fans when she posted a photo of her one-month-old son with a gun visible in the background, but former Party Down South starTaylor 'Lil' Bit' Wright has revealed her reasons for having a gun nearby.

Lil' Bit Addresses Her Critics

Wright spoke to TMZ Live after the controversy first erupted, and not only defended her rights to having the gun because of the second amendment, but admitted she also had personal reasons for wanting to keep her gun close by.

"Right now, what is dangerous, is locking a gun up and having an infant there," she said. "I just had a c-section, I'm not healed yet. Someone breaks in, I'm killing them."

She also addressed the comments she received about being a bad parent, as well as those which claimed if she lived in an area that was dangerous and required a gun for safety, she should leave.

"Everybody's like, you should move if you're in a dangerous situation," she said. "Everything's dangerous! it's 2015, you can never be too safe in my opinion, and I'm gonna be ready. I'm not gonna put my life, or my child's life in danger. I'm a gun owner, so I'm gonna practice my right, no matter where I'm at."

She also noted that there was another key element of the photo that no one seemed to pick up on, which was what sat next to the gun.

"What was going on in the photo was, I woke up and I fed my baby, and then Dalton was feeding him and we were taking turns, learning how to be parents, and it's hard...and I just took a picture of my life and I keep my gun on my nightstand," she said. "Right beside my gun is my bibles!"
