'Beauty and the Beast' Season 3 Spoilers: Next Chapter To Really Dive Into 'Mythological Element' [VIDEO]
Season 3 of Beauty and the Beast is going to go deep and unravel the "greater purpose" of Vincent (Jay Ryan) and Catherine (Kristin Kreuk).
In an interview with TVLine, Ryan spoke about what's coming up and how Vincent will be affected by the series of events that await him. The actor suggested that fans will get to the heart of Vincent and Catherine's story with this season.
"I feel like [showrunner] Brad [Kern] is really diving unto the mythology element, which kind of unravels the greater purpose of Vincent and Catherine's destiny, as two people together," Ryan said.
New Villainous Beasts To Create Menace In Season 3
The fact that Vincent will really treasure his newfound domesticity with Cat, and will not be looking for any kind of beastly adventures, has been made clear in various promos for the show. Ryan addressed this facet of Vincent's life and stated that while he might be happy with the situation his placidity will soon be ruffled by the dissatisfaction of the people he loves most.
"Off the top, that's what Vincent is kind of pining for, that normalcy in life, becoming part of the status quo and thinking that he's going to enjoy that," he said. "But he soon realizes that the people who are around him, the ones he has been the protector of in a way, are feeling a little empty without this excitement and risk in their lives. Everyone's in this slump while Vincent is on the up, and once he stops for a minute to marvel at the glory of his new life, he sees that everyone else is a bit off. He realizes that he has to fulfill who he is and his current purpose - and that is to protect."
Season 3 of Beauty and the Beast will premiere on The CW on June 11 at 8 p.m. on The CW.
