'Beauty and the Beast' Season 3 Spoilers: New Threat Is Not A Beast, Kristin Kreuk Dishes [VIDEO]
In her latest interview with IGN, Kristin Kreuk, who plays Catherine in Beauty and the Beast, talked about what lies ahead in season 3 of the CW show.
Season 3 To Really Dive Into 'Mythological Element'
While not much of what Kreuk dished was revelatory, as she and the other cast members have talked about this chapter enough in other promo interviews, she did give away a new detail about the threat in season 3, suggesting that it won't be a beast. Many had assumed the antagonistic elements would be beastly, but Kreuk confirms that while these people will have special abilities they will not be beasts.
"It does get very personal for them. We don't know what it is at the top of this show," she said. "There are these dudes and they're not beasts, but they seem to have abilities... And so we're trying to figure out what's going on, who would be doing this and why. They don't seem to be coming after our two characters necessarily, so they're doing their own thing, but we're not sure what's going on."
Kreuk also spoke about the overarching theme of season 3 which will be centered on Vincent (Jay Ryan) and Catherine's relationship and how they keep things steady in the face of these new challenges.
"Vincent and Catherine are together and happy. There seems to be another threat in the world and Catherine wants to go out and fight it," Kreuk said. "She believes it's their responsibility and their destiny to do so. Vincent just wants to be a couple, be a doctor, hang out at home, doesn't want to deal with it. So they're in that kind of conflict but it's also propelling their relationship forward at the same time. And they've got to try to make their 'normal' relationship work in the context of what's going on."
Season 3 of Beauty and the Beast premiered on The CW on June 11 at 8 p.m. on The CW.
