**Potential Spoilers for the June 14th season finale ahead. Do not proceed if you don't want to know them***

The season 5 finale of Game of Thrones is upon us, and with the impending decisions about the fate of King's Landing royalty and a major battle for control of Winterfell set to occur, there are great reasons to suspect that someone will die as the show comes to a climactic end.

The current season has sparked both outrage and joy from fans for veering away from the source material in George R.R. Martin's books (Sansa's rape and Shireen's death were considered foul by many, while Dani and Tyrion finally meeting caused others to celebrate). However a slew of theories based on Martin's A Dance with Dragons seem to hint a wildly popular character could meet his untimely end--and yet, other hints seem to indicate another's horrifying death.

Overall, the biggest theories seem to indicate that one of the remaining Stark children (not counting Bran and Rickon, who many believe are already dead) will perish before the season's end.

Jon Snow

He hasn't been the most popular Lord Commander of the Night's Watch since he brought the Wildlings back to the gates and invited them to live there in exchange for their help in fighting off the White Walkers when they eventually made their way to the Wall. In the final book Martin released, Jon Snow (Kit Harrington) is ready to hunt down and face-off against Ramsay Bolton (Iwan Rheon), when he is stabbed by a group of his own men and left to die. The book never specifies if he is dead or alive--but fans fear that the show writers will take matters into their own hands, much like they did the rest of the season--and will finish the character off.

Sansa Stark:

After a preview clip showing various scenes for the episode surfaced and showed Sansa (Sophie Turner) seeming to give up on her increasingly bleak situation, fans began to wonder if she would suffer the same fight as the character she was substituted for this season. So far as Ramsay's wife, she has suffered sexual and physical abuse, and has also learned quickly that her few allies still in the North won't be able to help her because of her husband.

Arya Stark:

Though certainly the least popular theory (though she isn't believed to be dead by everyone in Westeros, no one who is still alive has any idea where she is), some are still venturing that Arya could meet an end as she veers off course from her training by Jaqen H'ghar. She is supposed to be focusing on assassinating a local Bravosi man--but has her eyes set on Meryn Trant. If Jaqen realizes what she has done, he could punish her.

The Game of Thrones season 5 finale airs June 14 at 9 p.m. on HBO.
