'The Good Wife' News: Showrunner Talks Fighting Fair With The Execs Of The Network [VIDEO]
In a recent interview Michelle King talked about the complications of dealing with the top brass of the network while pushing for decisions on The Good Wife.
Elsbeth Set To Return In Season 7
As part of The Hollywood Reporter roundtable series King talked about how important it was to not frustrate the precarious balance of their relationship with the show execs and being honest with them.
"You can fight with [the execs], but you have to fight fair. You have to be completely honest with them, because you might be having a screaming fight with them at 10 in the morning, and inevitably at two in the afternoon you will have to call back on a different subject, and you have to work together," King said.
Critics Unforgiving Of Controversial Season 6 Finale Scene Of The Good Wife
Recently, CBS also finally revealed when season 7 of The Good Wife will be back on our screens.
The next chapter of the legal drama is set to premiere on CBS on Sunday, Oct. 4 at 9 p.m. The stage for the next phase of Alicia's (Julianna Margulies) is set to drastically change.
First off, some main characters and one very pivotal one exited with season 6 and won't be returning for the seventh one. Kalinda (Archie Panjabi) has left a huge void in the series, and the showrunners will definitely have to write in a great character to fill her shoes. It was recently revealed that Matthew Goode, who plays Finn Polmar will also not be returning. So Alicia's lost one strong romantic prospect for the next season. In season 6 she had a dalliance with her handler, Johnny Elfman (Steven Pasquale) but quickly retreated before she could be bound up by any emotional attachment, even though he had fallen for her. Elfman also left towards the end of season 6 after Alicia made clear to him that it was nothing more than casual liaison to her, and his work as her campaign manager was done.
So in season 7 Alicia's romantic life will need new candidates, and fans are more than ready to see Alicia in a new place. We do know she is starting afresh professionally as well. It is likely that Alicia will partner up with Louis Canning (Michael J. Fox) to start firm.
The season 6 finale, entitled 'Wanna Partner?' aired on CBS on May 10.
