Safaree Samuels is determined not to let his ex-girlfriend, rapper Nicki Minaj have the last word after she responded to his leaked song that aired the juicy details of their former relationship.

TMZ caught up with Samuels, who recently embarked on his own rap career following the high profile split. A man of few words, he simply stared at the cameraman who asked whether her claims that Samuels cheated were true.

“It’s a two-way street, you know? I’m not perfect. Nobody’s perfect,” he said when asked about her infidelity as well.

Fans first met Samuels as Nicki’s hype man. He also opened up about how he thinks Nicki feels about the possibility of him becoming a huge rap artist himself.

“No female is gonna want it to change outside of that. If you come in [from] playing the back, no female gonna be comfortable…”

Still, he went on to clarify that he’s “happy” before revealing the real intentions for the song called Love The Most (off of his latest mixtape It Is What It Is).

“I couldn’t be happier. I didn’t put the song out…It’s not a diss song. I’m not trying to air nothing out. It’s just me explaining where I’m coming from. I ain’t trying to beat nobody down. It’s one song.”

He continued and said fans might hear more similar tracks in the future.

“I had a whole album written about this.”
