'American Horror Story' Season 5 Cast: Finn Wittrock Talks 'Awesome Casting Choice' In 'Hotel'
Actor Finn Wittrock praised the casting of Lady Gaga for the upcoming fifth season of FX's American Horror Story.
Wittrock, who played Dandy Mott in American Horror Story: Freak Show, recently spoke with Variety about the horror anthology series. The star, who has not (yet) been signed to star in AHS: Hotel, the show's fifth season, but he is already looking forward to it because of the presence of Gaga.
"I was like, 'Perfect!' Ryan (Murphy) always has a way of outdoing himself. It's hard to keep surprising people when each season is so surprising. He very wisely makes a big awesome casting choice to get people intrigued. This was the epitome of that," Wittrock said.
Is Lady Gaga 'Perfect Casting' For 'American Horror Story' Season 5?
Wittrock believes that Gaga and American Horror Story is truly a match made in heaven.
"The thing about her, with her great theatricality and the gratuity of her own image, it actually makes a lot of sense for her to be on this show," he explained. "The show is heightened and gothic and that's sort of what she is. It's a good omen for the way the season will turn out."
As for his own presence on the show, it is still unclear. He did say that he will "definitely" be doing a Ryan Murphy show in the near future though he would not reveal if it would be American Horror Story or something else entirely.
So far, AHS: Hotel will star Gaga, Kathy Bates, Sarah Paulson, Evan Peters, Angela Bassett, Matt Bomer, Wes Bentley, Cheyenne Jackson, Chloë Sevigny and Max Greenfield.
American Horror Story: Hotel is expected to air in October on FX, though the network has not yet announced a specific premiere date.
