'Arrow' Season 4 Spoilers: Diggle 'Will Be Involved' With A 'Big Bad Guy' In Next Chapter [VIDEO]
DC Entertainment caught up with David Ramsey at a the CW event recently and got the actor to dish some about his character, Diggle's arc in season 4 of Arrow.
Ramsey revealed that the next chapter will be pretty crucial for Diggle, and that he had great faith in the creators of the show.
"There is a big bad guy that Diggle will be involved with," he said "It's supposed to be a big season for Diggle, so I trust these guys, Kreisberg, Berlanti, Guggenheim."
Ramsey also confirmed another fact that he had previously revealed in other interviews. Ramsey spoke about Diggle getting some sort of new costume in season 4. "Will you see Diggle in some kind of suit of some form, some kind of leather clad beside a leather jacket?" he stated. "Yeah, some kind of concealment slash armor thing going on next season."
Ramsey had teased Diggle's transformation in season 4 of Arrow in another interview with Comic Book.
The actor spoke about the finale and what things might look like for his character, Diggle, going forward.
One question on everybody's mind was if Diggle would take on the avatar of the Green Lantern in the next chapter.
"Everyone wants to talk about John Stewart. Is it "John Stewart Diggle" or "John Diggle Stewart" or whatever, and will he be Green Lantern? There's gonna be - obviously, [EP] Marc Guggenheim has said publicly that it's not the way to go right now. But people are still talking about it," Ramsey said.
He went on to add that his character's persona had become meta itself, and was not wanting to adopt the alter ego of an established superhero. Ramsey showed great faith in John Diggle and stated that they were this close to making him a character in comic books.
"You know, I think - and Greg Berlanti has said this publicly too, I think that they've gone to great lengths to build up the mythos and persona of John Diggle," he said. "He's become a character in the comic books! Hopefully, he stays alive in the comic books and he's around for 20 years, and someone else will play him on TV or in a movie! That's a great honor. I think they've taken great strides to making John Diggle part of the lexicon, and that's an important thing. I don't think you want to abandon that."
The announcement of Arrow's renewal for a fourth season was made earlier this month.
The finale of season 3, entitled 'My Name is Oliver Queen,' of Arrow aired on May 13 on The CW.
