The rumors were true: Destiny's next expansion will be The Taken King, ready to launch on Sept. 15, 2015.

Super Smash Bros. Roy & Ryu DLC Released

Leaked details earlier this month hinted at an expansion by that very name, and some of the details have been confirmed as well. You can watch the expansion's trailer below, which shows off the new storyline focusing on Oryx, father of The Dark Below raid boss Crota.

One thing the leak outlined were three new Super abilities--one for each class. The three are all featured in the trailer, with the Hunter getting a new Void bow attack, the Titan a flaming hammer, and the Warlock some chain lightning. In addition to looking pretty cool, the new Supers will provide each class with the elemental damage type they were lacking.

The rumors spoke of a new enemy type, and it looks like we're seeing the first glimpses in the trailer. The narration says that Oryx has created his own army, and it looks like he has perverted existing enemy factions into new units to do his bidding. The leak also mentions a new Raid, something noticeably absent from House of Wolves. If you're following the narrative, it's pretty logical to conclude that this new Raid will be focused on taking down Oryx, who would like nothing more than to defeat you for killing his son (over and over). Bungie is definitely going to reveal more details about The Taken King as the release approaches, so stay tuned for more.
