In a recent E! Online spoiler report, some information about the fate of Alicia (Julianna Margulies) and Cary's (Matt Czuchry) friendship in season 7 of The Good Wife was revealed.

Elsbeth Set To Return In Season 7

Toward the end of season 6, Alicia's relationship with her former partners, and more importantly closest friends, Cary and Diane (Christine Baranski) had started to sour over the terms of her exit and subsequent return to the firm. Both sides ended up playing games with each other, as a result of a whole lot of miscommunication. This confusion eventually led Alicia to start her own firm. In the finale, even Louis Canning (Michael J. Fox) offered her to join forces with him, and he was full of vengeance for Cary and Diane. This has left many speculating that Alicia might have to go up against Cary and Diane, and that their friendship might be in danger.

Czuchry addressed this question to E! Online, and while he did not give away any meaty spoilers, he did suggest that the changing dynamic would play an important role in the next chapter. "I think what could be interesting is if they're on opposite sides, but they're in a different place in terms of their connection," Czuchry said. "They are friends and I think there's a mutual respect there, so if they are against each other but have that friendship at the same time, those gray areas, to be able to play that, would be interesting."

Recently, CBS also finally revealed when season 7 of The Good Wife will be back on our screens.

The next chapter of the legal drama is set to premiere on CBS on Sunday, Oct. 4 at 9 p.m.

The finale, entitled 'Wanna Partner?' aired on CBS on May 10.
