In a recent interview with DC Entertainment, Katie Cassidy, who plays Laurel, and Stephen Amell, who plays Oliver Queen on Arrow dished about season 4.

Could Sarab Be Resuscitated In Season 4?

One of the major hints reported from these interviews was the fact that Laurel might be playing successor to Oliver in team Arrow. Amell jokingly suggested that he was hopinf for a break and there should be more Laurel-centric episodes. Meanwhile, Cassidy stated that Laurel would be stepping it up and will play strong and independent in the next chapter.

In the finale of season 3 it seemed like Oliver had renounced the superhero life altogether as he drove into the sunset with Felicity (Emily Bett Rickards). In various interviews Amell has strongly stated that there would be no more Arrow suit, and that that was behind Oliver. But at the same Rickards had also suggested that she feels Felicity and Oliver won't be able to stay away from their duties and fighting evil in Starling City for long. There is a whole lot of intrigue lined up for fans, but there will certainly be a few episodes to go before Oliver makes up his mind or there is an adequate twist in the plot marked for his return in a saviors role. In that gap, it is very likely that Laurel might play his successor. Although Diggle (David Ramsey) could also make for an alternative.
