The new Hitman title was revealed during E3 on Monday, and a gameplay trailer has been released.

Pillars Of Eternity Expansion The White March: Part 1 Announced

Like many franchises going through something of a reboot on current generation consoles, the next game in the series is simply titled Hitman. It will be coming to PC, PS4, and Xbox One on December 8.

As series fans know (and as the name implies, if you were not sure), players will again take control of an assassin with a specific target. That man is Viktor Novikov, a Russian billionaire and one of the ringleaders of an enigmatic spy ring called IAGO. Set against the backdrop of the Sanguine fashion show in Paris, you have the "power and intelligence of Agent 47 at your fingertips". The developers promise "complete freedom of approach", including whether or not you use brute force or orchestrate a genuine masterpiece of assassination.

Just Cause 3's E3 Gameplay Trailer Shows Off Plenty Of Explosive Action

The gameplay trailer, below, is surprisingly long. Generally speaking, publishers did a pretty good job at E3 this year showing off actual gameplay and not just pre-rendered CGI. Some videos may have featured in-engine footage and not live gameplay (the Hitman trailer seems to fall more to this side), but any gameplay is better than irrelevant CGI. You can get a good idea of Hitman's setting, visuals, and even plot in the trailer. Stay tuned for more as he game's December release comes closer.
