As The Fosters unfolds new drama, is Callie going to have a touching relationship with the family she never knew she had?
Chatter On 'The Fosters' Father's Day Episode
On Thursday, Mingle Media TV Network posted a live interview with Maia Mitchell (Callie) who mentioned that her character will have a growing bond with her sister Sophia. As they spend more time together, Mitchell pointed out how she and Bailee Madison (Sophia) get along on the show and in real life.
"It's been really fun hanging out with her, she's such a sweetheart," Mitchell said. "And I grew up watching her in films and really admiring her so it's a trip to be playing her older sister and you do see that sisterly bond grow."
What's Next For Jude & Connor On 'The Fosters?'
In the last episode of the ABC Family series, Callie came to terms with her father Donald after she had trouble forgiving him for what happened to her mother. So can viewers expect more from this character in further episodes?
"I think that was a lot of closure for Callie because the last time you saw Donald was him giving away his parental status and signing the papers. And there was kind of an unfinished business," Mitchell noted. "So Donald's storyline is so touching to me, it always chokes me up. I have such a soft spot for that character."
What about Callie's birth father? The actress revealed that Robert will be around more as his relationship with his daughter grows.
"The Robert relationship you see evolve a lot," Mitchell said. "You see them kind of make an effort to be in each other's lives and that's been cool and Callie accepting that and learning to love him."
