'Arrow' Season 4 Spoilers: New Character To Replace Felicity In Arrow Team In Next Chapter? [VIDEO]
A new spoiler report from TVLine suggests a pretty interesting development for season 4 of Arrow.
'Arrow Is Done,' Stephen Amell Dishes About Season 4 Of The CW Series
The report reveals that a new character will be introduced in the second episode of the next chapter. The specs feature an African-American male, a tech whiz who could professionally stand shoulder to shoulder with Felicity (Emily Bett Rickards). TVLine takes this information a step further with speculation about this new character possibly taking Felicity's place in the team as she might be on a brief hiatus with Oliver (Stephen Amell). Her missing status might prompt Diggle (David Ramsey), Thea (Willa Holland) and Laurel (Katie Cassidy) to take action and hire a new person to fill her role. But TVLine also has an alternate theory: this new character could actually play anatgonist and be H.I.V.E's answer to Felicity's strengths.
Meanwhile, in other related news, there has been plenty buzz surrounding Oliver and Felicity's new found bliss and if it will actually last.
Diggle To Wear A Mask, Become Green Lantern In Season 4?
In the finale of season 3 Oliver and Felicity are seen driving into the sunset by a beautiful coast, and when Amell was recently asked in an interview if this meant "Oliver and Felicity forever," his response was in the affirmative, but he quickly took a U-turn, saracastically suggesting that things could go awry as is known to happen often on the show.
"I think that's the plan," he said. "And as we know, on our show nothing bad ever happens when people are super happy."
Rickards also weighed in on the future of the duo in an interview with TV Guide. The actress suggested that it won't be a fairytale romance going forward, and that both of them will not be able to easily shed their past as vigilantes.
"What I think is so interesting is that once you help people and have served justice for so long, is that it might become an addiction to a certain extent," she said. "It's one thing to go and be happy and sit on an island, but you want to still be doing important work. So I don't know what that's going to be for them. They're going to have a balance of that and hopefully in their relationship as well."
The announcement of Arrow's renewal for a fourth season was made earlier this month.
The finale of season 3, entitled 'My Name is Oliver Queen,' of Arrow aired on May 13 on The CW.
