Ryan Gosling, Eva Mendes Baby: Actress & Fashion Designer Criticized For Comments About Not Using A Nanny? [PHOTO]
She opened up about her mothering skills and how she takes care of her daughter Esmeralda, but Eva Mendes could soon find herself being criticized for what she said.
Eva Mendes Jokes About "Wild Night' With Her Daughter
In an interview with InStyle earlier this month, Mendes said she didn't employ a nanny to help take care of her eight-month old daughter with boyfriend Ryan Gosling, because she preferred to be a more 'hands-on' mom.
"I'm a very hands-on mom; I don't have a nanny. No matter how tired I am, I just do it," she said at the time, before adding that she had adjusted her beauty routines to make them work better with her new schedule.

"Well sometimes I do it at 4 a.m.," she explained about skincare. "I'm no longer in control of my schedule, and I try to take advantage of the time when she's sleeping."
At the time she did receive some backlash, but after new photos have surfaced of her spending a reported six hours at a Hollywood beauty salon--without her daughter in tow--comments about her claim to be doing things without help could fire up once again.
At the time of the initial interview, Mendes was criticized for making the comments because some did not believe she was doing the things she was for her career (always seemingly with her daughter not by her side) and not utilizing some form of help in the process.
"Right...so she doesn't have a nanny, but there is 6 pictures of her without her child, she is the new face of Estee Lauder and she has her own clothing line??? So...that person taking care of your child while you work and are photographed without, that is just a live in babysitter, right?!?" one fan said at the time.
Another fan also criticized the way Mendes has referred to being a mother in interviews, noting that she never seems to gush over her daughter.
"I notice the language she uses with regard to parenting such as...'I just get on with it'...'I just get through it'...'It's nice to know there are other people out there going through this...'" the fan said. "doesn't sound like she's enjoying much of it..the comments tend to be about the baby's effect on her sleep and beauty regime..you don't hear her talking about her child's smile or anything positive regarding being a mother , only how hard it all is...pity the kid it's going to grow up with a big chip on her shoulder."
