The undefeated New York Knicks (5-0) may be facing their toughest opponent yet this season when they face off against the San Antonio Spurs (7-1) at the AT&T Center. The Knicks kicked off their road trip with a 99-89 win over the Orlando Magic on Tuesday night and improved to their best starting mark since the 1993-94 NBA season, in which they had seven straight victories.

New York's success is a testament to their play on both sides of the basketball court. The team is among the league leaders with 103.4 ppg while holding their opposition to a lowly 87.8.

Dominating to say the least, the Knicks have won each of their matchups by double digits, most recently limiting the Magic by 13 points after entering the fourth quarter with only a one-point lead.

"Defense, we buckled down. We kind of slowed them down, kept them off the glass rebounding. Once we had a chance to rebound the basketball, get out and make some shots, we didn't turn back from there," explained forward Carmelo Anthony, according to ESPN.

Sixth man J.R. Smith, who was 13 for 18 from 3-point range, also spoke to the sports network about the team's superb start.

"It's great. It's a great feeling. We want to keep it going," he said.

The Knicks are in the midst of a three-game road trip and will be taking the court in an arena that hasn't been too kind to them in the recent past. Although the team has seemingly left its past struggles behind them, they do currently have a nine-game losing streak while playing in San Antonio. New York has only averaged 88.6 ppg since their 105-97 victory on March 18, 2003.
