Actress Missy Peregrym talks the future of ABC’s Rookie Blue as fans wait to see if the show will be renewed for season number seven.

Peregrym, who plays the beloved Andy McNally on the hit series, spoke with TVLine Wednesday and said that she doesn’t think the show should end anytime soon.

“There’s always story to tell. It’s going to be a transitional time, obviously. We’re not rookies forever. So there’s always room to grow just like everybody else grows. If we have the opportunity, it would be exciting to have us as more of the adults in the situation and have other rookies.”

That started happening last season when the now infamous Duncan joined the Division 15 precinct. He is definitely a new generation officer and clashed with Andy’s way of doing things and almost got her in serious trouble with the force.

Peregrym added, “We’re already dabbling with that and moving forward and having career changes in terms of our positions, obviously. No one’s leaving to be a painter. It’s already growing in that direction. Of course, there’s a million different ways that you can take it, just like anybody’s life.”

Peregrym’s character will definitely be taking on some changes this season herself. Her boyfriend, Sam Swarek found out in Thursday night’s season premiere that his ex-girlfriend, Marlo, is carrying his child. Peregrym confirmed that Andy tries to work through it and find out where she belongs in Sam’s new life.

See how it all turns out on the new season of Rookie Blue Thursday at 10/9c on ABC.
