5 Seconds of Summer In Australia: Why Does Luke Feel Like ‘It’s Nice To Be Home’? [VIDEO]
The Australians of 5 Seconds of Summer are currently in their homeland of Australia for their Rock Out With Your Socks Out Tour!
The band has been able to travel all over the world thanks to their incredible worldwide fan base, but there is always something special about returning to Australia. It is after all the birthplace of 5 Seconds of Summer.
The band kicked off their New Zealand/Australia leg back on June 18 and on Thursday they played to a sold out crowd in Melbourne, Australia, in which Calum Hood's dad was in the crowd, singing along to his son's band's songs.
Ashton Irwin & Bryana Holly Aren't Officially Together, But She's Someone Really Nice'?
Saturday the band will play in Adelaide and Monday they will play in Perth before heading stateside to continue their tour.
The Aussies are really thankful though for their Australian fan base. If it were not for them, they would not be doing what they're doing now.
Drummer Ashton Irwin gave a shout out to the Australian fans on Twitter Friday.
"Hey Australia... Thank you for coming to the shows..." he beamed, adding, "I hope you've had a night to remember forever! This means so much to us."
He even sealed the tweet with a kiss, "X".
Luke Hemmings shared similar sentiments. On Friday the youngest 5SOS band member regarded the outpouring of support the Australian fans give, mentioning, "it definitely doesn't go unnoticed."
"[I]t's nice to be home," he added, with the hashtag "#biglove".
We imagine once the tour concludes in Florida in September the band will return to Australia for some downtime. Then again, they do have their sophomore studio album in the works so perhaps they'll split time between finishing that up and heading home.
