'Fifty Shades of Grey' Movie Casting: Rumer Willis As Anastasia Steele?
Speculation over who will ultimately don the role of Anastasia Steele in the movie adaptation of the highly popular E.L. James novel "Fifty Shades of Grey" has continued to heat up the web. The latest name to churn in the never-ending rumor mill for the saucy role is Rumer Willis.
The daughter of Demi Moore and Bruce Willis was witnessed on the beach with her significant other Jayson Blair partaking in the "Fifty Shades Freed" read. From the moment she was spotted with the erotica, fans and bloggers have begun to gossip over her potentially filling the part.
While there has been no official confirmation on whether Willis would even want to audition for a chance to play billionaire Christian Grey's sex slave, she would garner a slew of competition. To top it off, there's been no word on if E.L. James' casting team would be interested in the 24-year-old for the part of the sexy college graduate.
Two supposed frontrunners for the highly-coveted Steele role are Twilight" actress Ashley Green and Alexis Bledel of the "Gilmore Girls." However, Nina Dobrev of "Vampire Diaries," Kristen Stewart of "Twilight," and Harry Potter's" Emma Watson are also highly touted names that fans have brought up.
Up until this point, James and the producers of the future film have remained relatively mum on what the casting protocol will be. Only time will tell who will eventually walk away with the high-profile roles of Anastasia Steele along with her sexual partner, Christian Grey. Although screenwriter Kelly Marcel was recently revealed to be penning the screenplay, no release date for the flick has yet been determined.
Universal Pictures and Focus Features bought the rights to the "Fifty Shades" feature early in 2012. The racy novels have now sold over 20 million copies and counting
