Since coming off the eighth season of NBC's The Voice, Meghan Linsey has been busy creating new music and now she'll be performing at a big event for our country's birthday!

The Latest 'Voice' Winner's California Trip Just Became 'A Little More Interesting,' But Why?

On Wednesday the soulful singer dished on Twitter about the 4th of July special airing on PBS that she'll be partaking in. It's the 35th annual A Capitol Fourth.

"I'll be singing a song from one of my idols, Aretha Franklin," she gushed.

The line-up for A Capitol Fourth this year is incredible. Aside from Linsey, Hunter Hayes, Nicole Scherzinger, Barry Manilow and many others will perform on the West Lawn of the U.S. Capitol.

"I am beyond thrilled to be a part of the Capitol Fourth celebration," Linsey said in a statement, adding, "What better way to celebrate America's independence than on the lawn of the Capitol? It's incredible. As an American, I couldn't be more honored! I'll be checking this off of my bucket list for sure!"

On Thursday the singer had "an amazing rehearsal" with an "insane" choir.

Then on Friday, Linsey revealed her eagerness once more to perform this weekend in honor of "America's birthday!"

Tune in on PBS at 8 p.m. ET on Saturday for A Capitol Fourth.

The Voice will return to NBC in the fall for its ninth season.
