'Sister Wives' Cast News: Will Kody Seek Legal Marriages With All Four Wives? [VIDEO]
He hasn't made a move to try and have all of his marriages legalized, but fans are wondering if Sister Wives star Kody Brown may consider it in the future following Nathan Collier's petition to have his polygamous marriage legalized.
Nathan Collier Files Petition For Legal Polygamy
Collier, who appeared on a season five episode of Sister Wives when Kody and his family traveled to Montana to meet with him, has gone public with his decision to use the wording in Justice Roberts' dissenting for the SCOTUS ruling last month as a means to have his own union with his second wife, Christine, made just as legal as the one to his first wife, Victoria. And though no one from the Brown family has actively spoken up about the petition, it appears Kody may be supporting Nathan's request.
Not only did he retweet an Associated Press story about Collier's petition, but he has also since retweeted Collier sharing an interview he did with CNN about what he is hoping to accomplish--which seems to hint that Kody is extremely supportive of the idea.
It is unclear if Kody would consider legalizing all four of his marriages however if Collier's petition proved to be successful and polygamy was given the same legality in the U.S. that gay marriage recently received.
Kody's own marriages have constantly been a source of fan speculation, and more so since the family's show closed its fifth season. During the second half, news broke that he and his first wife, Meri, had legally divorced and Kody had legally remarried his fourth wife, Robyn. It was revealed on the show itself that Meri had initiated the proceedings in an effort to give Kody and Robyn an easier path when it came to his attempt to legally adopt her children from a previous marriage.
Sister Wives season 6 is expected to premiere later this Fall on TLC.
