'Fast and Furious 8' Spoilers: Latest Updates For 'Furious 7' Sequel [VIDEO]
Recently the stars of the Fast and Furious series have been dishing about what fans can expect from the eighth installment. We bring you the lowdown.
Most of the press caught some of the key cast members at the the recent launch of Supercharged -- a Fast and Furious based theme park ride -- at Universal Studios Hollywood.
Jason Statham, who played Deckard Shaw in Furious 7, spoke to Access Hollywood about his excitement over returning for the next movie in the franchise.
Could Mia Toretto Return For Furious 7 Sequel?
"We're already talking about doing another one, Part 8. I'm a newcomer, I just got invited to the party on this last one. It is nice to know I'll be doing another," he said.
While Statham was careful about not giving away any spoilers he did admit to the fact that he knew about some of the storylines in the plot for Fast and Furious 8, saying, "there is some great stuff that I already know about."
There have also been a whole bunch of casting rumors surrounding the movie, and some of the main actors of the series have also weighed in on that.
Most recently Vin Diesel, who plays Dominic Toretto in the films, addressed Helen Mirren's wish to join. Last year the actress had made known her wish to act in Furious 7. Diesel told Access Hollywood that he wouldn't need to think twice about that. "Of course I would! Who wouldn't? It's Helen," he said.
Also, Rodriguez dished about the rumored possibility of the return of Eva Mendes as Agent Feuntes. "I think that first off, girls should stop fighting each other and we should start uniting for once," she said. "That's how I feel about that. Secondly, I think that everything is speculation until we actually shooting and we're immortalising stuff on film."
Rodriguez also spoke about her vision for the next movie in the franchise:
"If I were ever to do it, I think you have to be all encompassing. You have to think holistically and look for the broader audiences. And I don't like hating on guys to make women powerful," she said. "I think you can do both. Mad Max is proof of that."
Fast and Furious 8 will be released on April 15, 2017.
Furious 7 hit theaters on April 3, 2015.
