Bon Jovi spoke about his 19-year-old daughter's drug arrest following a heroin overdose in an interview with Fox 11.

The rocker's daughter Stephanie Bongiovi was arrested on November 14 together with a 21-year-old male student, after police found heroin, marijuana and drug paraphernalia in her dorm at Hamilton College in upstate New York. She was found unresponsive at the dorm and was hospitalized.

"It's human," Bon Jovi flatly replied. "What I do for a living seems glitzy and glamorous but if you don't take it too seriously it's just a great way to make a living. And then, life goes on. Things happen," he said.

"This tragedy was something that I had to face too so we'll get through it. And people's incredible warm wishes for my family and I have been really reassuring. So, we're good, we're good," he added.

This was the first time Bon Jovi spoke publicly since November 14. All criminal charges against Stephanie were dropped on Nov. 15 and she will not face criminal prosecution, a representative for the Oneida County District Attorney's Office told TMZ.

The singer apparently didn't know that side of his daughter. A source close to Bon Jovi's family said "No one had any idea she [Stephanie] did those kinds of drugs...Steph has a wild side, but she's not a crazy partier," Us Weekly reports.

Bon Jovi has four children with his wife of 23 years, Dorothea Hurley, Stephanie and three sons.
