Giuliana Rancic Quits E! News, Final Episode Will Air Next Month
Although there have been a number of reports, claiming Rancic may have been fired, the longtime host has set the record straight, insisting the decision was "100 percent" her own.
"I brought up the idea to leave three years ago, but E! News kept extending me because they wanted me to stay," Rancic explained to PEOPLE Magazine on Friday. "This has been three years in the making."
Maria Menounos Will Replace Giuliana Rancic On E! News [Report]
"I took on a challenge 14 years ago. I was a young reporter, and E! News was my dream job. It's been an incredible journey. But after 14 years, I have nothing else to accomplish on the show," Rancic continued. "I want to grow as a person, as a businesswoman, as a host, and in order for me to grow, I need to take on a new venture and new challenges."
As for the reports regarding Mario Menounos replacing her after a longstanding feud, Rancic also said there was no truth at all -- at least to the reports of their alleged feud.
"They're absurd," Rancic said of the rumor. "I've never had a feud or drama with any of my E! News hosts or co-hosts, and there certainly isn't one now. There is no feud. It takes two to feud, and I'm not feuding!"
Rancic's final episode of E! News airs Aug. 10.
