He covers the latest DuJour magazine and opened up about his split with Sparks after dating for roughly three years.
“I think everything happens for a reason. I think I was in that relationship for a reason, and I don’t regret anything, but at the same time I know how good it feels to be on my own right now.”

DeRulo and Sparks split back in September of last year. Sparks and Sage are getting pretty serious, but DeRulo knows the marriage talk won’t be happening for himself anytime soon.
“It’s pretty clear that I’m not ready for that. I’m just not in the right space.”
While he and Sparks lasted for years before hitting their rough patch and calling it quits for good, DeRulo said he has yet to come across “true love.”
“I think true love can never be broken. So I don’t think I’ve found true love yet.”
Meanwhile, he’s enjoying this time in his life and career.
“I feel younger than I did five years ago. I think new beginnings always do that to you; you feel fresh.”
Sparks dished on their breakup with Wendy Williams shortly after it became public. She spoke on claims that there was too much pressure to tie the knot but refused to confirm or deny whether he cheated on her.
