Gabriel Aubry Fight Launches Investigation By Child Protection Services For Nahla
The Thanksgiving Day fight that physically involved Halle Berry's ex-boyfriend Gabriel Aubry and her current fiance Olivier Martinez launched an investigation into the well-being of Nahla, the 4-year-old daughter Berry shares with Aubry, according to a source.
The incident occurred on Thanksgiving when Aubry went to drop off Nahla at Berry's Los Angeles home. Martinez, who was at the house at the time, and Aubry got into a physical fight where reportedly punches were thrown and both men faced injuries. However, an insider revealed that Nahla may have witnessed some of the action and when LAPD officials arrived at the scene, they called Child Protection Services.
"Detectives from the LAPD formally contacted the CPS [Child Protective Services] after Gabe's arrest, because Nahla was present when the fight occurred," according to a source. "Nahla wasn't actually involved in the melee, and by all accounts, Halle whisked her out of the driveway as soon as the fight between Olivier and Gabe started. "
"However, DCFS was contacted because there has been a history of allegations of physical abuse. Social workers will be interviewing Halle, Gabriel and Olivier about what happened on Thanksgiving. DCFS must ensure that Nahla's environment is safe," the source added.
Police arrested Aubry and posted a $20,000 bail. The amount was paid and Aubry was released a few hours later, but must appear in court on Dec. 13. The model filed a restraining order against Martinez earlier this week, which the court granted. Aubry currently faces a restraining order that forces him to stay 100 yards away from Martinez, Berry and Nahla.
Aubry and Berry split in 2010. Recently, a judge ruled against Berry in her request to move Nahla with her to France, where Martinez is a citizen. Aubry claimed that Martinez threatened his life during their Thanksgiving Day fight and that he screamed at him, "You cost us $3 million. When you see the judge, you're going to tell him you're going to Paris or I'm going to kill you."
