The British-Irish boy band came together five years ago on The X Factor after each member failed as a soloist.
Louis Tomlinson, Liam Payne, Harry Styles, Niall Horan and even the recently former member Zayn Malik have gone through so much together from various rumors to breaking records.
How Are The Remaining Members Of One Direction Coping Without Zayn Malik?
Things have really changed a lot within the last year though for the boy band with Malik's departure and the latest bombshell of Tomlinson becoming a father, but one thing remains a constant in that the band is so grateful for their fans.
Without their fans they would have never amassed all they have, which is basically world domination considering their massive tours, album sales and more.
Styles and Tomlinson have each taken to Twitter to share heartfelt messages with their fans.
The youngest 1D member feels as though "it is impossible to thank anyone enough for all the support they have given" the band.
Aside from thanking fans, Styles went on to thank the various people who help make 1D function between handling press and touring and so much more. Those individuals are just as much to thank as the fans since they allow for the band to be as organized as they can be on the road and such.
Styles continued his message with more gratitude and concluded with "All the love" to show just how thankful he is for everyone who has ever showed any interest in him and his bandmates.
Tomlinson's note to fans was even more emotionally pulling as he used the word "incredible" to describe the fans a couple of times.
The oldest 1D lad called the last five years "amazing" and proceeded to share his thanks.
He modestly deemed this was his "attempt of expressing how thankful we [the band] are for you guys!"
Tomlinson admitted to getting "emotional" from watching fan-made videos celebrating the band's five-year anniversary.
"You guys are too good to us," he gushed.
Payne and Horan haven't acknowledged the big celebration yet, but we're sure they will and as for Malik, we bet despite his decision for leaving, he's still grateful for being part of something as magical as One Direction has become.
Now we suggest watching everything from the band's time on X Factor to their SNL appearances and everything else in between to celebrate their five-year mark.
