Allegiant: Part 1 has been filming since the middle of May and it turns out a character that was in its predecessor Insurgent will not be in this next installment.

The Divergent franchise is based on a series of books from Veronica Roth so it's obvious the books won't match the movies perfectly, but it is rather disappointing to learn about a character getting cut out who should technically stick around given how things panned out in the second film.

The character Lynn is a Dauntless-born and she appeared in the first two novels, but she only was on screen in Insurgent.

Rosa Salazar is the Lynn portrayer and she divulged the sad news that she won't return in Allegiant: Part 1.

Collider spoke with the actress at San Diego Comic-Con, in which she shared, "I'm not going to be in Allegiant at all."

So it sounds like she won't be seen in the second part of Allegiant either since it has been cut into two separate movies.

In the novel form of Insurgent Lynn wound up dying, yet in the movie version she lived so it seemed reasonable she would return for the next two installments, yet according to the actress she won't be back to take the screen as the Dauntless character.

Salazar's bit in Insurgent wasn't massive, but the fact that she lived as Lynn spoke volumes, but it appears as though she is being wiped out. Will other characters even mention her in Allegiant: Part 1? Fans of the franchise will find out in March of next year.

Allegiant: Part 1 is due out March 18, 2016!
