In an interview with Cinema Blend, Fast and Furious producer Neal Moritz gave away an interesting detail about the eighth installment of the movies.

There has been heavy speculation surrounding who will direct the anticipated flick. It's mostly been a tossup between Justin Lin and James Wan. But Moritz threw all the rumors out the window revealing that they hadn't decided on a director yet and were would get around to thinking about that once the screenplay for the movie had firmed up.

"What we decided is that we are going to be a little further down the development process on the screenplay before we bring in a director," he said. "We have talked to a lot of directors, but we just haven't made that decision because we're trying to still wrap our heads, 100%, about what the next Fast & Furious is. Once we do that, then we'll bring in the director."
