Fox has answered millions of fans’ prayers and dropped a first look at the new season of Empire as more musical artists are slated to join the cast and the explosive drama picks up right where it ended.

Real Drama Erupts On ‘Empire’ Set As Cast Comes To Blows…Find Out Who

Jamal Lyon (Jussie Smollett) is Team Lucious and rocks the crowd for a #FreeLucious concert while Cookie (actress Taraji P. Henson) somehow finds herself in a huge cage. She also goes to visit Lucious Lyon (Terrence Howard) in jail after he was arrested for killing her cousin and his childhood friend last season. Things have certainly shifted this time around as she teams up with Andre Lyon (Trai Byers).

Anika (Grace Gealey) returns after her epic hookup with Hakeem Lyon (Bryshere Gray). And from the sneak peek, something is still going on between them.

And it looks like Fast & Furious stars Tyrese and Ludacris are joining in on the fun this season.

Rapper Ludacris unveiled the news via Instagram and he’s going to be playing none other than a police officer in the jail Lucious Lyon is serving time. Ludacris’ characters are often witty, outspoken and rarely hold their tongue. So Ludacris’ caption definitely makes sense.

“This could get interesting…”

Meanwhile, co-creator Lee Daniels added that Tyrese will be joining the show as well before he shut down rumors he was stepping away from the show.

Tyrese started gunning for a position earlier this year. It will definitely be a trip down memory lane to see Tyrese and Henson on screen together. They starred in the hit movie Baby Boy together and fans still refer to them as their characters, Jody and Yvette.

See what Tyrese will be doing on the show when Empire returns for its second season on Sept. 23 on Fox.
