On Sunday, the Teen Mom OG star, who is reportedly filming the series sixth season, shared a photo on Instagram, which expressed her stance on abortion.
"Amen," Lowell captioned the photo, whose message begged the question, "If we are pronounced dead when our heart stops, why are we not pronounced alive when our heart starts?"
'Teen Mom OG' Has Been Renewed For A Sixth Season [Report]
Although the post got nearly 50,000 likes its first 24 hours, SheKnows revealed it also received tons of criticism. Below are a few comments left by followers.
"Shame on you for using your platform to belittle women who choose to terminate their pregnancies within the legal bounds of abortion laws."
"She can post what she wants. But so can anyone else. And I can decide to unfollow her after being a loyal fan for 6 years."
"While it's great that you were able to give up your first born [sic] for adoption I don't like you shoving anti-abortion propaganda on other people. Especially since the decision is never an easy choice to make...."
Lowell has been outspoken about her pro-life stance since choosing adoption for her first daughter, Carly, in 2009. At the time, she and her now-fiance, Tyler Baltierra, couldn't afford to raise a child, nor did they have a stable home environment for Carly.
Although season six of Teen Mom OG has yet to be officially confirmed, Radar Online reported the cast has already begun filming.
