Even though Michael Douglas and Catherine Zeta-Jones have had their fair shares of ups and downs, the Hollywood actor admits that things have been rather boring between the two, and that's a good thing.

According to the Business Standard, Douglas says that when it comes to the couple's marriage, their brief separation back in 2013 has only made them stronger.

He said, "We're closer than ever. I think that when both parties want to work something out, they can. It was mutual love that brought us back to each other -- we've been back together for two years and it's all worked out just fine."

As far as how the couple's two children, Dylan, 14, and Carys, 12, handled the turmoil, Douglas admits that it wasn't easy but that everyone is in a much better place now.

Douglas explained, "The kids are doing great, too. They had a clear understanding of what was going on -- I don't think there were a lot of secrets kept -- and they're fine now. To sum up, no news is good news, and that's what we have."

The couple has been married since 2000 and will be celebrating their 15-year anniversary this summer.
