Ex-NBA Player Danilovic Stabbed, Fighting for Life

Serbian former basketball star Predrag Danilovic was fighting for his life on Saturday after being stabbed in a café in the capital, Belgrade, overnight.Danilovic, 43, reportedly sustained "life threatening injuries," the head of Serbian police Milorad Veljovic said, according to B92 radio. Danilovic suffered injuries to his abdomen, head and hands.

Taylor Hicks: New Idol Judges 'A Good Thing'

Taylor Hicks reportedly voiced his approval of the change in judges on TV's American Idol, during an interview in Los Angeles on Friday, according to TMZ.When a photographer for the entertainment news website asked the season 5 Idol winner his thoughts about the state of the Fox's hit show, Hicks said the "revolving door of judges is a good thing." He also said there will always be drama and that it's good for the show.

Howard Stern Buys $52 Million Florida Mansion

Self-proclaimed "King of All Media" and radio personality Howard Stern recently purchased a $52-million oceanfront mansion in West Palm Beach.The custom home, built in 1992, was privately sold to Stern by American textile and apparel executive Martin Trust and his wife, Diana. The sale was officially recorded on Wednesday.The house, at 601 N. County Road, features five bedrooms, 11 bathrooms and 18,673 square feet of air-conditioned space in the main house, and a smaller structure with 1,196 square feet.

Investigators asked teams to temporarily stop practicing for the America's Cup on San Francisco Bay in wake of the accident on May 9 that killed a sailor.Public concern over the safety of racing conditions has grown since British champion sailor, Andrew Simpson, a member of Swedish challenger Artemis Racing, died last week after an ultra-fast catamaran built for racing capsized last week.A committee formed by organizers met on Thursday to review the fatal accident. After the meeting, the committee asked teams to halt sailing both the 72-foot America's Cup catamarans and the smaller AC45s until the middle of next week.

Ken Venturi Dies at Age 82, Former U.S. Open Champion and World Golf Hall of Fame Inductee Passes Away

Ken Venturi, former PGA golfer and long-time commentator for CBS Sports, died on Friday afternoon, according to the San Francisco Chronicle.He was 82 years old.Venturi's biggest accomplishment on the golf course came when he won the 1964 U.S. Open at Congressional Country Club in Bethesda, Md. while suffering heatstroke. The final day of the tournament, he shot 66-70 (which included 36 holes). The win was the only major championship of his career.
